What We're Using

WHAT WE LOVE: SPIRALIZING

Spiralizing is the art of turning vegetables or fruits into noodles. This process is made simple by an inexpensive kitchen tool called the spiralizer. It works kind of like a pencil-sharpener, and you’re left with noodle-shaped produce.  We love pasta, but spiralizing vegetables (or fruits) is a tasty alternative!

WHAT WE’RE USING: PackIt Lunch Bags

With school just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about lunch! Reusable lunch bags have become a staple in the cafeteria, not only because they are cost-effective, but also there is no waste!  One lunch bag we love is the PackIt Freezable Lunch Bag.  Its cooling technology is built into the walls of the bag so you’ll never waste money on ice packs again, and it keeps items cool for up to 10 hours!

Kitchen Skills: Knife skills

Slicing, dicing, chopping, and cutting: it’s hard to cook without using a knife to prepare the ingredients! Hard, but not impossible. A pizza cutter makes a perfectly excellent cutting tool for soft things that aren’t too big: bananas, for example, or tofu. And scissors are great for snipping up herbs and greens.

Little Green Pouch Reusable Food Pouch

Food pouches or “squeezies” have become a lunchbox staple. Most food pouches contain fruit sauces or baby food. Parents love them because they are convenient and kids love them because they are fun and portable. And with their popularity increasing, there are more reusable food pouches available on the market. We love the idea of being able to fill them with healthy fruit sauces and smoothies kids can make at home and later enjoy on the go. Plus who doesn’t love the idea being green and saving money?
