Hot Honey Lemon | ChopChop
A warming, tangy mugful. Think: lemonade—but for the wintertime! (Of course, it’s good cold, too.)
Sharp knife (adult needed)
- Put the water and lemon slices in the pot. Put the pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
- When the water comes to a boil (you’ll know it’s boiling because you’ll see little bubbles breaking at the surface), turn off the heat and leave the mixture to steep for 5 minutes.
- Use the fork to mash the lemon slices against the side of the pot to add all their flavor and juice to the water, then fish them out and throw them away. Stir in the honey.
- Pour the “tea” into the two mugs and serve right away.
Add a 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger) along with the lemon slices.
