"Eating the rainbow" helps get you in the habit of eating a full spectrum of fruits and vegetables— and, because different colors are associated with different nutrients, that's a great way to color your world healthy. What better way to get all your healthy hues than in a snackable rainbow or fruit? Start with a container of fruit salad, if you like, or vary the ingredients to suit your taste.

Kitchen Gear: 

Sharp knife (adult needed)
Cutting board
Bamboo skewers


purple grapes
kiwis, peeled and cut into chunks
pineapple chunks
cantaloupe chunks


Wash your hands with soap and water, then gather all your kitchen gear and ingredients and put them on a clean counter. 

  1. For each kabob, thread the fruit onto a skewer in rainbow order. Eat right away.
